The usual options are not always a fit
Coaching, broadcasting, training, franchising, financial services, real estate, and sales are common paths after sports. Some work. Many require a new credential, a large time commitment, or a personality fit that not every athlete wants. A relationship-based opportunity is different because it starts with the network already built during and after the playing career.
Every sport creates a different business map
Former football players often have strong regional and alumni recognition. Basketball players may have deep youth, school, and community influence. Soccer players connect through clubs, academies, international circles, and family networks. Baseball players often carry local trust across generations. Hockey players frequently belong to highly connected regional communities. Those maps can become business channels when handled correctly.
What makes PPB different
PPB does not ask an athlete to become a salesperson. The athlete identifies a qualified relationship, registers it, and makes the introduction. The partner company takes over the consultation and account process. That keeps the athlete focused on the part only they can do: opening a warm door.
How PPB fits
The agreement comes first. The introduction is documented. The partner team handles the rest.
A retired pro athlete should not have to hope a handshake gets honored. PPB gives approved reps a structured process through ProEdge: register the business, protect attribution, move through conflict check, send the interest letter, and track the status.
