The introduction is the job
In the PPB model, the athlete does not pitch products, close deals, handle objections, or manage fulfillment. The job is identifying a real relationship with a qualified business owner or decision-maker and getting that person onto the right call with the professional team.
Why no cold calling matters
A company can buy a list. It cannot buy the credibility of a former player, athlete, or connector whose name is already trusted. Cold calling removes the asset that makes the athlete valuable. PPB is built around warm access, not random outreach.
What protects the athlete
The strongest referral models put the agreement first and record the contact before outreach happens. That matters for athletes across football, basketball, soccer, baseball, and hockey because the relationship may have been built over years. It should not be handled as a disposable lead.
How PPB fits
The agreement comes first. The introduction is documented. The partner team handles the rest.
A retired pro athlete should not have to hope a handshake gets honored. PPB gives approved reps a structured process through ProEdge: register the business, protect attribution, move through conflict check, send the interest letter, and track the status.
